Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, born in Houston on September 4, 1981, known simply as Beyoncé, is an American singer-songwriter, producer, actress, director, designer and businesswoman.
In her hometown, she entered various singing and dancing competitions as a child and rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead vocalist for the R&B girl group Destiny's Child. Led by their father, Mathew Knowles, they became one of the best-selling girl groups in history. On June 9, 2022, Beyoncé deleted her profile pictures on several of her social media platforms, leading to speculation that she would be releasing new music.
Days later, Beyoncé sparked further speculation via her nonprofit BeyGood Twitter account, hinting at her upcoming seventh studio album.
On June 15, Beyoncé officially announced her seventh studio album, Renaissance.
The album was released on July 29, 2022.
